OOTD: Dungaree dress

dungaree dress - New Look // Touche Amore t-shirt // gold chain - charity shop // sandals - topshop // watch - flea market //

I bought this dungaree style dress from new look at the weekend and i absolutely love it, as it's denim you can pretty much pair it with any top so it's a great piece for spring/summer this year. Pairing it with a plain white top makes a really nice simplistic outfit, but spice it up with a gold chain and watch.
Another way you could wear it, would be the obvious choice of all,  pairing it with a stripey top! I think wearing a floral blouse will look really cute for spring/summer as well, so i know i'll be getting a lot of wear out of this!

a little spring/summer clothing/beauty haul! (H&M, Topshop, MAC)

weaved sandals - Topshop // chunky peep toe heels - H&M // suede flip flops - H&M // knitted vest - H&M // patterned 'ombre' trousers - H&M // MAC 217 brush - Revlon BB cream - Collection liquid eyeliner pen - Barry M gelly nail paint in 'Lychee' //

Yesterday i finally went summer shopping (for holiday as well) and i kind of didn't go as overboard as i thought i would, but i bought a few things that i had been wanting for a while anyway.
Firstly i purchased the Topshop sandals which i think will be so perfect for summer and for when i go on holiday, they can pretty much be paired with anything and it'll look great! I'm thinking they'll look good with rolled up jeans and a slouchy top for the last few weeks i have left at uni!
I also bought my evening shoes that i'll be wearing a lot on holiday, i was originally planning on getting some shoes from New Look but when i got there they didn't have any in my size! So i ran back to H&M and found these beauty's! I can imagine they'll go great with the two clothing items i bought, to dress up a semi-casual outfit. The heel is quite chunky so they're easier to walk in than you think especially with the added support of the platform as well, and the ankle strap supports my foot very nicely so hopefully i won't have any trip ups!
I managed to find some comfy looking flipflops, as planned from H&M, my previous material flipflops were also from H&M and they lasted me about 4 years so i'm hoping these will last me just as long.
I didn't really buy much in the way of clothing, as i already have A LOT of clothes that'll be suitable for spring/summer and also on holiday. I'm talking about the 7 pairs of shorts hidden in a drawer and the billions of t-shirts i already have stuffed in my wardrobe. So i only resorted in buying this cute almost 'knitted' style vest top that'll be great for casual days with shorts and sandals, or dressed up with a skirt and heels. And the smart looking light weight trousers that'll match well with the top, but can be dressed down with sandals and a baggy t-shirt. I think the 'ombre' edging is kind of surprising and give the trousers an interesting twist.

Lastly i bought a few makeup items, a BB cream to protect my face from the sun when i'm on holiday (which i'd reapply throughout the day) and with the added 'concealing' element adds a bit of coverage to my not so perfect skin! I also finally bought the MAC 217 brush which i've been wanting for absolutely ages, it's a really great brush for anything to do with eyeshadow: application, blending, crease etc. And i can't wait to start using it! I also wanted to try out the 'Gelly' nail polishes by Barry M and i thought this colour was a nice take on the 'nude shade' and it can pretty much match with anything which will be great for spring/summer when i'm feeling lazy. I wanted to finally try one of those felt tip liners as well, and i saw Collection had one that was only £2.99 so i thought that would be a good buy incase it turns out that i don't like it!
I also re-purchased Collection's Lasting Perfection Concealer (as mine has almost run out) and Maybelline the Falsies Flared mascara to save in case it runs out before holiday!

Have you been doing any spring/summer shopping recently?

buys of the day - charity shop

// checked high waist shorts - £3.79 // pale green slouchy cardigan - £1 // floral knitted sweater - £1.99 //

Just thought i'd do a quick post of a few items i picked up when i passed through some charity shops today! I think all these items will be great for spring and summer and i can't wait to start wearing them.
Firstly i bought (or should i say Elliott bought me) the cute checked shorts which i love, i think they'll be great for spring and summer this year, and because they're made out of a fairly thin material they'll be great for when i go on holiday in July as they're comfy and light weight. They'll go really well with a nice pale blouse and cardigan - or layered with a cropped pastel pink jumper.
Next i found the lovely pale green cardigan which will be best for spring - especially when it's a lot cooler to keep me warm. I think i'll go great with anything, from dresses to skirts and blouses to shorts and t-shirts, a pretty all round cardigan that'll be great for every day wear.
Lastly i got a floral knitted sweater, where the flowers are almost '3D' if you get what i mean, i think it's so cute and i think even wearing it on it's own or with a blouse underneath (with short sleeves of course) it'll look lovely, and with the minor cut outs it'll keep me cool when it gets a little warmer.

holiday wishlist #1

So i plan on making these 'holiday wishlists' as i am jetting off to Tunisia in July with my family, Elliott and some family friends (always the best holidays may i add) and i am thoroughly looking forward to lying in the sun reading some books on my kindle and eating A LOT of pancakes and pizza, as well as the needed pina colada or two in the evenings!
Now i have a lot of clothes already, especially ones that are suitable for the summer, so i don't think i'll be needing much when it comes to that lovely shopping trip to Bluewater with Elliott once we've finished Uni in May. I have so many pairs of shorts that i could have one pair for every day of the week! On top of that i own many many vests, t-shirts, and dresses galore for both day and night (some bought in the new year sales). So i've decided to limit myself with summer clothes this year, being a student and all!

//black suede peep toe heels - H&M// brown closed toe sandals - topshop// black suede flip flops - H&M// white gladiator sandals with silver detail - topshop // black sandals with ankle strap - H&M// brown woven sandals - topshop//

So firstly the two things i am in desperate need of this summer/spring are some new sandals and a new bikini. I've recently been eyeing up the Topshop website at the beautiful sandals they have to offer, some are a bit more pricey than others, for instance the white gladiator are £50 but the woven sandals are £24, which i think are the ones i'm more edging towards buying when i do my summer shopping after i've finished uni in May!
I've also been on the look out for some cheap flip flops as my dearly departed material flip flops broke last year after lasting for about 4 years (they were from h&m) so i had a browse on the h&m website as well to see if they had any new flip flops on offer and they did!! In a much nicer material, suede, they'll be soft and comfy to walk around in (as the rubber flip flops give me terrible blisters) and a cheap £4 they're a complete bargain!
Lastly the final pair of shoes i need to get for the summer time are some evening shoes, every year when we go away on holiday we always dress up in the evenings, and i normally like to add a few inches to my height by wearing heels or wedges. Again, i have a pair of wedges that are looking a bit worse for wear now, and i wore them every night on a holiday to Greece almost 2 years ago and also wore them last year on holiday as well, so they've pretty much lasted a long time as well! I fell in love with the black suede peep toe heels on the h&m website but the size of the heel is slightly scary! I'll definitely have to try before i buy when it comes to those shoes! I also found another pair with a slightly lower heel that are equally as nice but also at a tad cheaper price at £25 rather than £30. I'm hoping they come out with a few more pairs of shoes in their range as i'd like a comfortable pair for my holiday, but also a pair that look nice!

// purple printed high waist bikini - topshop // pinky-peach balconette style bikini - h&m // black cut out high waist bikini - topshop //

I've also been looking at bikinis, as i do have a lovely floral print high waisted bikini that Elliott bought me from Urban Outfitters almost 2 years ago, so i've worn it for 2 summers now! I love it so much though so of course i'll still wear it this year, but i have been looking to buy another bikini to wear along side the other one whilst i'm away.
I loved the print and material for the printed high waisted bikini from topshop, unfortunately i'm not in love with the top half as my other bikini has a similar top, and i'm looking for a bikini more with a balconnete top, due to my unfortunate very flat chest! So this ones a maybe at the moment, who knows!
The next one i looked at was a lovely peachy shade bikini with a beautiful bikini top! I love it! I wish the bottoms were a bit of something more, maybe a bit of a higher waist line but overall i am very happy with this one, and especially at £13 for the top and £8 for the bottoms you can't really go wrong! Especially as i don't really want to be spending £35 odd on a bikini, when i could buy something else with a bikini, etc.
Lastly i had a look at the black cut out bikini from topshop, this one is absolutely almost perfect, it's just the colour that's a bit of a let down as black will make me look even paler due to my ghost-like complexion. I love the top and bottoms though, they've exactly what i'm looking for! Unfortunately i wasn't looking for black though, but i've got a few months before i go summer shopping so hopefully i shall end up finding the perfect swim suit for me!

Have you found anything you want for the summer yet? Or is it too early?

february favourites

Yes, it's that time at the end of the month where i have to come up with a few favourite products or items that i have been loving for the majority of the month, and fortunately i have been loving a lot of products and various clothing items this month!

  1.  Knitted Jumpers - It has been absolutely FREEZING throughout the whole of february, needless to say i am looking forward to summer even more, so i've been reaching towards my various knitted jumpers in my wardrobe. Now, i have a lot of knitted jumpers that i have accumulated over, probably the year (i have left more at home) but as you can see i have picked out a few i've been loving.
  2. Real Techniques Blush Brush - As you may know, i do love all of my RT makeup brushes and i do use them on a daily basis, but a few weeks ago i bought another one to add to my Real Techniques family of brushes, and that brush was the blush brush! I've been using it every day since buying it and i can't get enough! It adds the perfect amount of blush to the cheeks and blends it out flawlessly, making it look really natural and not like you've just blobbed some blush on your cheeks.
  3. Revlon ColourStay Foundation - I have been using this foundation on and off for just under a year and a half now, about 2 months ago i thought to try something new and bought the 'L'oreal True Match Foundation in Rose Ivory' and let me tell you, it was not a true match at all! It oxidized on the skin making it blotchy and patchy. So i decided to mix it with white foundation (which made it a lot better) and use it as a tinted moisturizer (mix with a light moisturizer) for when i want a lighter coverage! Long story short, i decided to re-buy the colourstay foundation and i have been loving the flawless skin look a lot this month!
  4. Kate Moss Lipstick in Rosetta I think i've talked a lot about this lipstick recently on my blog, but i am loving it! No lie, i've been wearing it pretty much every day, sometimes i mix it on my lips with my Revlon Kissable Balm Stain to add a bit more pinkness to it, but overall i am loving it!

february wishlist

1. Barry M Nail Paint in NP161 // Barrym.com I love this colour of nail varnish, it's a very deep purple but this particular nail varnish has different flecks of dark green in it too , which is what makes it such a lovely purple nail polish!
2. Real Techniques Stippling Brush // Boots As you may know i am a huge fan of these brushes, i think they're amazing! I currently have the core collection (orange) the eye set (purple) and the blush brush (pink) and i love every single brush and get some use out of each one. I have been wanting to try out the stippling brush for a while now as i've heard it's very good for foundation application to give an almost 'airbrushed' look to the skin. It's also been known to be great for blush!
3. Spotty Blouse // H&M A really lovely patterned blouse, which is black & white that'll be great for the up and coming monochrome trend!
4. Rouge Pure Shine Sheer Lipstick in Pink Diamond // YSL Recently i've been loving more nude shade lipsticks or the 'your lips but better' shades and i think this one is just beautiful! It also has really pretty packaging, but i shouldn't really justify that as a reason for buying it!
5. Floral & Check Skater Skirt // Topshop Again, another item of clothing that fits in well with the monochrome trend, but i also love the pattern on this skirt! It'll look great with some tights, black ankle boots and pair with a simple white blouse and cute cardigan.
6. Naked Basics Palette // Urban Decay  I've been wanting this eyeshadow palette ever since i heard about it coming out, due to my love of the original Naked Palette with me using it every day. I think this looks like such a great every day palette where you can use the eyeshadows for various things, such as the black as a liner, or the darker browns for filling in the eyebrows etc.
7. Lace Cropped Top // Topshop I love the simplicity of this cropped top and how it can add a bit of a more feminine touch to any casual more masculine outfit, such as high waist jeans and a leather jacket with boots.

outfit of the day

knitted jumper - charity shop // cross necklace - primark // black jeans - new look // black ankle boots - h&m // tapestry bag - charity shop //

I recently went shopping the other day in Brighton, as i am currently down here for 'reading week' to see my family etc., while i was in town on Monday with my twin Holly and my younger sister Martha, i decided to go to one of the charity shops and i found this beauty of a sweater for £3.80, bargain! It looks almost zara-esque which is what drew my attention to it in the first place. After finding it i thought that a silver necklace would match it more than a gold one would, but unfortunately i don't really have any, so i popped into Primark and found this little cheapy cross necklace for £2 which i thought was reasonable considering it looks kind of like something you'd find in Topshop. I paired it with some simple black jeans and black boots to add to the monochrome trend. The boots give me a perfect about of height, to even out the oversized-ness of the jumper, making me about 5"8 rather than 5"5, which always nice!

3 different outfits for valentines dates

dress - h&m // shoes - topshop // earrings - topshop // necklace - topshop // lip crayon in 'wave goodbye' -topshop//
For a more 'girly' outfit i thought a floaty pink dress would be perfect, pair with simplistic gold jewellery to add a bit more to the outfit, and add cute cut out shoes with some black tights. Continuing with the 'girly' theme, add a pink natural looking lip with your normal every day makeup.

shirt - h&m // ring - urban outfitters // mini skirt - topshop // mac lipstick in 'russian red' // summer rose perfume by Stella McCartney // shoes - topshop
For a more 'smarter' less casual look i opted for picking more 'monochrome' pieces, with simple jewellery and a pop of colour with the red lipstick. I absolutely love the shoes in this outfit, they follow on with the gold accents and the 'not so tall' heel makes it easy to walk in, so you won't be stumbling around whilst walking with your date. A simple floral fragrance like Summer Rose is perfect, light and refreshing, not too heavy, which is great for valentines day!

leather-look trousers - topshop // striped cropped top - topshop // chain necklace and skull bracelet - asos // barry m nail polish in 'dusky mauve' // boots - office
If you're not really into skirts and dresses, then i've come up with a comfortable but cute outfit for valentines day. Pair high waisted leather trousers with a cropped striped t-shirt to show a tiny bit of skin round the mid-stomach region. Cuff the trousers at the bottom and add these chelsea boots from Office, to add a little bit of height, and finish off the outfit with nude-ish nails and gold jewellery.

casual outfit feat. new shoes & bag

hat - urban outfitters // plaid shirt - elliott's // grey basement shirt // black jeans - new look // belt - charity shop // casio - elliott's // bag - charity shop // shoes - local shoe shop // gold hoops - vintage fair

sorry for badly taken photos/lighting! It has made the images slightly blurred almost grainy because lighting wasn't the best today (also blame Elliott for his bad photo taking skills).

I came up with this very casual laid back outfit and thought it'd be great for university or college, as it's just so comfy and simplistic. I started off with a grey Basement T-shirt, but you can't see the things on the t-shirt - making it just a simple grey shirt, i paired it with some skinny black jeans from new look, and tucked the shirt in. I threw over the blue-green plaid shirt to make the outfit more slouchy and comfortable, but also to add more colour to the outfit. Finally i wore my new shoes that i bought from a local shoe shop which i adore!! They're so comfy and easy to slip on and off due to a nifty zip on the side of both boots which is great when i get home from uni, and at a price of £20 i think they are perfect. I also bought a 'tapestry' looking style bag from a charity shop for £3.50 which i thought was such a steal, as i can fit a lot in it which will make it perfect for university!
