My Favourite Recent Makeup:

Oops long time no speak! A lot has happened in the past month with going on holiday and getting a job so i hadn't really had any time to blog anything unfortunately, but i am back!! It was my 19th birthday last weekend which was fabulous (even though i was working) and was lucky enough to get a Macbook Pro from my lovely boyfriend Elliott, although i am paying him back about £700 of it with wages etc.

Anyway recently i've been doing my makeup slightly differently, with more simple eye makeup and darker lips and i've been absolutely loving it!

I use the Bourjois healthy mix foundation & concealer to cover redness and imperfections and powder over with Rimmel Stay Matte as usual. Then i contour my cheeks with a bit of Sleek contour kit in shade medium and add a bit of colour with a Bourjois cream blush to the cheeks with a stippling brush. I then move onto the eyes and apply MAC's Cork all over the lid with the RT brush, and then blend in Tempting by MAC with the 217 brush in the outer corner of the eye and work it into the crease as well, and finally to add a bit more i finish off with Brun by MAC blended into the crease and lower lash line to make it a bit more 'smokey'. Next i apply a black Chanel kohl eyeliner in my top waterline (not the bottom as it makes my eyes look smaller) and also smudge it into the top lash line as well to create a bit of definition. Then top it off with a bit of mascara! (Maybelline Falsies)
For the lips i used Plumful by MAC which is a beautiful, well, plum shade, that looks great on just about anyone (so i've heard) and it's a great all year round kinda colour, it just about suits the summer but i think it's going to look even better in the Autumn and Winter!

february favourites

Yes, it's that time at the end of the month where i have to come up with a few favourite products or items that i have been loving for the majority of the month, and fortunately i have been loving a lot of products and various clothing items this month!

  1.  Knitted Jumpers - It has been absolutely FREEZING throughout the whole of february, needless to say i am looking forward to summer even more, so i've been reaching towards my various knitted jumpers in my wardrobe. Now, i have a lot of knitted jumpers that i have accumulated over, probably the year (i have left more at home) but as you can see i have picked out a few i've been loving.
  2. Real Techniques Blush Brush - As you may know, i do love all of my RT makeup brushes and i do use them on a daily basis, but a few weeks ago i bought another one to add to my Real Techniques family of brushes, and that brush was the blush brush! I've been using it every day since buying it and i can't get enough! It adds the perfect amount of blush to the cheeks and blends it out flawlessly, making it look really natural and not like you've just blobbed some blush on your cheeks.
  3. Revlon ColourStay Foundation - I have been using this foundation on and off for just under a year and a half now, about 2 months ago i thought to try something new and bought the 'L'oreal True Match Foundation in Rose Ivory' and let me tell you, it was not a true match at all! It oxidized on the skin making it blotchy and patchy. So i decided to mix it with white foundation (which made it a lot better) and use it as a tinted moisturizer (mix with a light moisturizer) for when i want a lighter coverage! Long story short, i decided to re-buy the colourstay foundation and i have been loving the flawless skin look a lot this month!
  4. Kate Moss Lipstick in Rosetta I think i've talked a lot about this lipstick recently on my blog, but i am loving it! No lie, i've been wearing it pretty much every day, sometimes i mix it on my lips with my Revlon Kissable Balm Stain to add a bit more pinkness to it, but overall i am loving it!

January favourites

1. My own tinted moisturizer - basically i mix together a foundation (which for me is l'oreal true match in 'ivory' mixed with a white foundation- in a separate foundation bottle) with a moisturizer, i use Simple's light moisturizer, on the back of my hand and there you have your own tinted moisturizer which you can customize how much coverage you want on any day - e.g use more foundation if you want a high coverage. I've been loving using it this month as i feel i want a lighter coverage base, then use a higher coverage concealer on my problem areas, such as t-zone and my chin.

2. Rimmel matte finish top coat - I've been loving matte nails this month too, and this top coat is just brilliant if you want to sport the upcoming trend! You can use any nail polish underneath, just use this top coat on top and it will almost instantly (give or take a few seconds) give your nails a matte finish
.

3. Percy & Reed Hair Finishing Polish - I received this along with a shampoo and conditioner as a gift at christmas, and i must say the finishing polish is absolutely brilliant, forget using hairspray to add volume to your hair this is what you should be using! I basically get a pea sized amount and rub it on the tips of my fingers then i massage it into the roots of my hair from underneath and it instantly adds a crazy amount of volume to my hair. The perfect hair product!

4. Percy & Reed Colour Shine Shampoo & Aussie Colour Mate Conditioner - Both are lovely products, the shampoo leaves my hair smelling great and feeling really clean, the conditioner stops my hair from feeling really dry and really adds moisture to my hair leaving it silky smooth! Definitely two brilliant hair products.

5. Johnson's Rehydrating Night Cream - I apply this as a night moisturizer in a way, after cleansing and toning my face i apply this and it makes my skin feel amazing when i wake up the next day, making it easier to apply my face makeup to the skin.

6. Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder in 'Translucent' & Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in 'Crush' - Another two products that are absolutely amazing! Once you've used the Rimmel Stay Matte powder you'll never go back to another powder, it really keeps makeup on your face all day whilst also keeping it matte with no shine. Perfect for those with oily to combination skin, like myself, apply through t-zone to control the oily areas. The Revlon stain is also perfect, the shade is a beautiful deep pinky-red and it really stains your lips like no other lip stain, i literally still see the colour at the end of the day, and the fact it's also a balm is great, as it steers away from the drying factor of most lip stains i have tried previously. It also smells like peppermint which is an added bonus!
