Haul: MAC

// Mineralize Skin Finish in 'Soft and Gentle' // £22
A beautiful highlighter,  I used it this morning over foundation on my cheekbones, brow bone and the inner corners of my eyes and it really made such a difference! I can see why people always say that this is one of the MAC cult items that you must have!

// MAC Quad - £6.50 // MAC 'Embark' & 'WoodWinked' - £20 //
I decided to purchase two more eyeshadows that i've wanted for quite a while, especially the shade 'WoodWinked' and I thought these would be two beautiful shades to add to my collection of MAC eyeshadows. Also they're great tones of brown for autumn! I will eventually fill up the two other spaces, maybe with 'Satin Taupe' & 'Naked Lunch'?

// MAC Paint Pot in 'Painterly' - £15 //
Again this is another 'cult' MAC item that everyone needs, and I must agree! Similar to the Maybelline ColorTattoo's it's a creme eyeshadow, but I mainly use it as an eyeshadow base/primer and from trying it this morning I must say it is a product that is definitely worth the money! It's so creamy and easy to apply and really makes your eyeshadows pop! I'll now be using this every day instead of my UD Primer Potion!

// MAC Lipstick in 'Syrup' (Lustre finish) - £15 //
This is a really lovely lipstick shade, it's one of those 'your lips but better' kind of shades and applies really smoothly on the lips. The shade is similar to MAC's 'Plumful' but a lot less 'plummy' with a bit of a mauve hint to it which makes it the perfect every day lipstick!

// MAC Lipstick in 'Bric-o-la' (Amplified Creme) - £15 //
From the looks of this photo it makes it look like a bright red shade like Ruby Woo or Russian Red, but in person it's no where near that red! It's more of a toned down red, and is a lot more wearable than the usual red lipsticks i've come across in the past. It's as the name suggests more of a 'brick' shade that's really flattering on pale skin and again, a perfect item for Autumn!

Haul: Topshop, NARS, ASOS, New Look.

Dr Martens Heeled Chelsea Boots // ASOS £110

I got paid for all the crazy amount of extra hours i've been doing at work last week, so I splurged a bit on a few items, with one of them being a pair of docs! I've been wanting a pair for quite a few years now, and I've also been wanting a nice pair of chelsea boots as well, so I put two and two together and bought these! I think they're the perfect shoes for Autumn and Winter, I can imagine i'll probably be wearing them almost every day as they'll match with pretty much anything. As for comfort they're god damn comfortable! Most people say that docs are hard to break in but i've had no problem so far, they're really comfy, look great and will probably last for years, yay!

NARS Blush in 'Dolce Vita' // ASOS £21.50

I've been wanting to try something from NARS for quite a while but just never had the money to spend over £20 on a blush, but I thought why not with the 20% student discount I got off ASOS which kinda made my mind up for me! The blush is a beautiful deep rose shade that's matte (which I prefer when it comes to blushes) and will be perfect for pretty much any season and matches really nicely with my ghostly complexion. It blends really well and you can apply it lightly for a soft natural blush or build it up to be slightly more dramatic, but you only need to tap the brush lightly into the pan which is great!

Tan Satchel // Topshop £34

I needed to get a new bag for university as I start back in a few weeks and I need something of a decent size and of decent quality. I thought Topshop bags might be fairly good and I'll only be carrying around at the most my macbook, a notebook, lunch and purse etc. as I carry around my sketchbooks in bigger bag as they get very heavy! It's the perfect size for uni and will hopefully last me through the year nicely!

Boyfriend Style Winter Coat // Topshop £58

Again as with all the other things, i've been on the lookout for a new winter coat for the season ahead and I loved the look of the boyfriend style coat and saw that Topshop had a few in stock. This one has cute little poppers on the front which make it easy to do up with no fiddling around with buttons or toggles, I also love the small lapels on the coat which I think completes the coat, I can just see myself putting a broach on it! I bought it in a size 8 so it didn't come up so oversized on me, and it's the perfect size, definitely if you're thinking about getting a 'boyfriend style' coat this season get it in the size down that you would normally go for in coats, unless you're going for the oversized look then go you!

Paisley A-line Skirt // New Look £19.99

Ah I do love this skirt! It's a beautiful pattern that I think would look sweet with a plain white t-shirt, thick tights, my new docs and accented with silver jewellery. I'll probably now wear this skirt a lot over the next few weeks and end up getting sick of it (I won't).

This isn't really a part of the 'haul' but I thought i'd mention it, we got a new pooch!!!! She's a chihuahua crossed with a Jack Russell and she's the cutest thing ever! We've only had her a day and she's already snuggling up to my leg on the sofa whilst I type this now, we've taken her on a few walks and she's a bit timid when we take her out but she's just getting used to the area and being around us aw!

a little spring/summer clothing/beauty haul! (H&M, Topshop, MAC)

weaved sandals - Topshop // chunky peep toe heels - H&M // suede flip flops - H&M // knitted vest - H&M // patterned 'ombre' trousers - H&M // MAC 217 brush - Revlon BB cream - Collection liquid eyeliner pen - Barry M gelly nail paint in 'Lychee' //

Yesterday i finally went summer shopping (for holiday as well) and i kind of didn't go as overboard as i thought i would, but i bought a few things that i had been wanting for a while anyway.
Firstly i purchased the Topshop sandals which i think will be so perfect for summer and for when i go on holiday, they can pretty much be paired with anything and it'll look great! I'm thinking they'll look good with rolled up jeans and a slouchy top for the last few weeks i have left at uni!
I also bought my evening shoes that i'll be wearing a lot on holiday, i was originally planning on getting some shoes from New Look but when i got there they didn't have any in my size! So i ran back to H&M and found these beauty's! I can imagine they'll go great with the two clothing items i bought, to dress up a semi-casual outfit. The heel is quite chunky so they're easier to walk in than you think especially with the added support of the platform as well, and the ankle strap supports my foot very nicely so hopefully i won't have any trip ups!
I managed to find some comfy looking flipflops, as planned from H&M, my previous material flipflops were also from H&M and they lasted me about 4 years so i'm hoping these will last me just as long.
I didn't really buy much in the way of clothing, as i already have A LOT of clothes that'll be suitable for spring/summer and also on holiday. I'm talking about the 7 pairs of shorts hidden in a drawer and the billions of t-shirts i already have stuffed in my wardrobe. So i only resorted in buying this cute almost 'knitted' style vest top that'll be great for casual days with shorts and sandals, or dressed up with a skirt and heels. And the smart looking light weight trousers that'll match well with the top, but can be dressed down with sandals and a baggy t-shirt. I think the 'ombre' edging is kind of surprising and give the trousers an interesting twist.

Lastly i bought a few makeup items, a BB cream to protect my face from the sun when i'm on holiday (which i'd reapply throughout the day) and with the added 'concealing' element adds a bit of coverage to my not so perfect skin! I also finally bought the MAC 217 brush which i've been wanting for absolutely ages, it's a really great brush for anything to do with eyeshadow: application, blending, crease etc. And i can't wait to start using it! I also wanted to try out the 'Gelly' nail polishes by Barry M and i thought this colour was a nice take on the 'nude shade' and it can pretty much match with anything which will be great for spring/summer when i'm feeling lazy. I wanted to finally try one of those felt tip liners as well, and i saw Collection had one that was only £2.99 so i thought that would be a good buy incase it turns out that i don't like it!
I also re-purchased Collection's Lasting Perfection Concealer (as mine has almost run out) and Maybelline the Falsies Flared mascara to save in case it runs out before holiday!

Have you been doing any spring/summer shopping recently?

No7 Match Made foundation & No7 makeup haul

So yesterday i went into town as i was in need of a new foundation (as my revlon one was making me look really annoyingly oily) and i've been wanting to use the no7 match made service where they find your exact skin tone with the foundation that'll match it near perfectly!

The lady at the counter basically took off the makeup that i already had on the edge of my jaw line nearest the ear on both sides of my face, then took the reading on both sides and found out that i matched closest to the shade 'Calico' which, guess what, is the lightest shade of foundation, typical!

She then got a tester of the foundation and applied it over where she had taken the makeup off to begin with, and it was a perfect match! My skintone is pale but with yellow undertones, and also oily-combination, so i opted with 'No7's Beautifully Matte Foundation' which was a great match! It is medium coverage and really blends in well with my skin tone, but looks really natural at the same time which is great for every day wear but also can be built up to full coverage for a more night time look.

No7 also had an offer on where if you buy 2 No7 makeup products you get a free gift bag worth £26 which i thought was definitely worth it, so i bought an eyebrow pencil so i can fill in my eyebrows, but of course in a natural way (aka not look like it's been filled in with a crayon). I choose to use tiny little strokes when filling my brows in with a eyebrow pencil to mimic the look of hairs, making it look a lot more natural. It also comes with a nifty brush on the other end, which kinda reminds me of the 'Anastasia Brow Wiz' eyebrow pencil.

Finally getting on with the little goodie bag, it came with a sample size of mascara which will be great for my lower lashes as the wand is made of rubber not bristles, a light metallic purple (inner corner highlight?) a beautiful lipstick which i love the colour of, great for every day wear, and a day cream which will be nice to put on before foundation. Overall a pretty great freebie if you ask me!

Look out for a foundation review in the very near future (next few days) to see what i think of the foundation!

mini clothing haul

Speckled Red Blouse - Antique fair = £5 // Roll Neck Sweater - Topshop = £7

 I found these two beautiful items at Bluewater today! I popped into Topshop just to have a browse and ended up finding this really nice roll neck jumper for only £7 down from £20! I think it'll look great with just some simple black jeans and some heeled boots, as it's fairly baggy i'd need to add some height so the jumper doesn't drown me. It's a fairly thin jumper which is great as it'll transfer well into the spring, and i can also wear it with skirts and shorts without it looking too bulky, yay!
The speckled red blouse was a great find from the antique fair that was going on in Bluewater today, me and Elliott got student admission for £2 which was great, and there were a lot of lovely clothes and jewellery there, i wanted to buy it all! Again this would go well with some simple black jeans and heeled boots, as it is a fairly long blouse, but i think a black velvet skater skirt would go really nicely with it as well.

Recent Beauty Buys! // Including Rimmel & Urban Decay //

1. Rimmel Kate Moss Lipstick in 'Rosetto 08' - I've always wanted to try out one of the lipsticks in Kate Moss collection by Rimmel, so i finally bought one! I wanted to buy a dark red, but knowing me i thought it would be a bad idea considering i rarely wear the red lipsticks i already have, so i voted on buying a peachy-mauve wearable shade. I love it so much, it's such a great colour for every day wear, but also good for layering over other lipsticks for example i've been layering it with my Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in 'Crush' which gives it a more dark pinky look.

2. Apocalips Lip Laquer in 'Galaxy' - Everyone seems to be buying this new Rimmel product particularly in this shade recently and i get why! It's a beautiful mauve-purple which is brilliant for every day wear, and goes smoothly on the lips without the sticky texture you sometimes get with lip gloss products. Now normally i am not a fan at all of lip gloss, but this doesn't really count as one as it's more of a 'liquid lipstick' as it drys fairly matte but i tend to blot my lips after applying it.

3. Rimmel Exaggerate Liquid Eyeliner - Fairly simple black eyeliner, the nib gives me the perfect control and i get my eyeliner done perfectly every day using this. It's very black and isn't a thin liquid, so you don't get that annoying thinness of the eyeliner when you apply it to your eyes.

4. Urban Decay Primer Potion in 'Sin' - I'VE FINALLY BOUGHT IT! I've been wanting to buy the Urban Decay Primer Potion for so so long, way over a year, and i had just never got round to buying it, but when i saw it on eBay for a lot cheaper than at the Urban Decay stand i finally bought it! I love it! It's a beautiful champagne shade - similar to 'sin' from the Naked palette, and it really does keep my eye shadows on all day and prevents them from creasing. Definitely a must have!

casual outfit feat. new shoes & bag

hat - urban outfitters // plaid shirt - elliott's // grey basement shirt // black jeans - new look // belt - charity shop // casio - elliott's // bag - charity shop // shoes - local shoe shop // gold hoops - vintage fair

sorry for badly taken photos/lighting! It has made the images slightly blurred almost grainy because lighting wasn't the best today (also blame Elliott for his bad photo taking skills).

I came up with this very casual laid back outfit and thought it'd be great for university or college, as it's just so comfy and simplistic. I started off with a grey Basement T-shirt, but you can't see the things on the t-shirt - making it just a simple grey shirt, i paired it with some skinny black jeans from new look, and tucked the shirt in. I threw over the blue-green plaid shirt to make the outfit more slouchy and comfortable, but also to add more colour to the outfit. Finally i wore my new shoes that i bought from a local shoe shop which i adore!! They're so comfy and easy to slip on and off due to a nifty zip on the side of both boots which is great when i get home from uni, and at a price of £20 i think they are perfect. I also bought a 'tapestry' looking style bag from a charity shop for £3.50 which i thought was such a steal, as i can fit a lot in it which will make it perfect for university!
