My Little Box #1

There's a new 'beauty' subscription box in town and it's perfect!
Ladies & Gents, make way for the amazing 'My Little Box', a new monthly box for people of the UK! It started as a subscription box for the lucky ones in Paris, but now it's come over to the UK and I couldn't be happier! I had been looking for a good subscription service for months and months, but glossybox etc. didn't really wow me so much, i'd also heard that their recent boxes had been shockingly bad.
Firstly the packaging and everything is superb, it is so cute and beautifully illustrated with little drawings of all things paris. The beauty items come in a cute drawstring bag which I will be keeping to store jewellery! The beauty items this month are lovely, one of which being the famous Laura Mercier Foundation Primer (RRP £18) which I had been dying to try for ages (I screamed when I saw it) so I am very very happy with that! Another beauty item I got was a illuminating concealer pen, which was a part of their own brand, it's actually very pretty and I think will definitely highlight that under eye area! Lastly I got the Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse Oil, which can be used on the body, face and hair! I've heard many good things about it so I look forward to testing it out!
The other things you get in the box are various items, I got some cute stickers, a gorgeous notebook that will be going straight in my handbag, and a laptop/netbook/ipad case which I adore, but unfortunately none of my techy things fit in it, so I think i'll use it as a travel makeup brush holder!!
Overall I am sooooooo pleased with this subscription box, it is AMAZING value for money at only £11 a box (+ £3.95 PP), I already am looking forward to my next box!

La Rafinée

Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet in 'La Rafinée

When in Paris buy Chanel! Which is what I say when i'm convincing myself that €33 for a lipstick is perfectly acceptable...right?
Firstly the packaging, as always with Chanel products, is GLORIOUS! It has this little clicky button that you press and out pops the lipstick, like it's the beautiful birth of your new lipstick baby. I've nicknamed my lipstick 'Raf' for short.
Besides the point, this is my new favourite lip product of the moment! The formula is smooth and not drying at all, it's almost matte - but not quite as it has a slight sheen still. The colour is so pretty, almost a muted plum that's a bit more on the nude side, making it my perfect everyday shade.
The lasting power is pretty good as well, I wore it out one night in Paris and it was still on my lips after dinner!
I love pairing it with MAC's lip liner in 'Dervish' which is a similar shade, and works well at making the lipstick last even longer. Over all i'm really impressed, considering i wasn't that fussed when it came to the other Chanel Lipstick I own, this has turned my opinion right around!

Paris!

I recently in the past week took a little trip to Paris with my boyfriend Elliott, it was a belated birthday present from him that we booked back in June and we had both been eagerly awaiting it ever since. We went for 4 days and 3 nights, leaving very early on the Tuesday morning and late on the Friday evening, which actually worked out perfectly!
Our hotel was situated just on the outskirts of Paris and had various restaurants around it, which turned out to be perfect in the evenings as it made it easy to get back to the hotel, and to know where we were going. We mainly spent the days getting the cheap metro (I can't believe it only cost €1.70!!!) into the centre of Paris and would spend the day there walking from place to place and then we'd get the metro back in the late afternoon.
One of my favourite days was the first day we got there, we walked all the way from our hotel in Porte Dorée through Bastille (yes Bastille songs were sung numerous times) and ending up outside the Notre Dame and the 'Love Lock Bridge' where we did the little lock thing, where you throw the key in the river, which I've wanted to do for years and years. Then we wandered round the Notre Dame area and got the metro back to near our hotel and had delicious pizza for dinner!
One of the days was mostly a 'shopping day' and we spent about an hour and a half looking for Brandy Melville, and it turned out we had walked past it numerous times it just didn't have a sign outside! Typical! It did make us laugh and i'm sure it'll be a part of the trip that we'll never forget. Afterwards we walked all the way to the Arc de Triumph and found the massive Sephora, it was a beautiful moment walking into Sephora, I may have wiped away a tear (I didn't).
We looked at all the main 'tourist' places to see, Eiffel Tower, Louvre, Notre Dame etc. etc. but also found nice little shops too and did a spot of shopping, particularly for french skincare which is absolutely amazing for the price! It is quite a bit cheaper than in the UK, so I decided to wait for this trip to buy the skincare items I had been lusting after. Plus I just HAD to buy a Chanel lipstick whilst in Paris, right? Along with the MUFE HD Foundation which is quite hard to come by in the UK, and the Too Faced Natural Eye Palette, which you can get in the UK but it was slightly cheaper in Paris.
Overall I loved every moment of this little vacation, I can't wait for whatever the next little trip we'll take together!

..p.s a lot of croissants were consumed throughout the trip.
